The Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) young agents donated $38,526 to the Make-A-Wish(R) chapters in North Carolina after raising funds at the association’s first annual Young Agents Committee Charity Golf Tournament earlier this year.
The tournament raised a total of $19,263 each for Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina. The donations granted five life-changing wishes for children in North Carolina.
"It is a privilege to partner with both Make-A-Wish chapters in North Carolina to help grant wishes of deserving children," says Aubie Knight, CEO of IIANC. "Under the leadership of our young agents committee [YAC], nearly 150 golfers, sponsors and volunteers came together in support of a worthy cause and gave back in a phenomenal way."
Representatives from each chapter were on hand for a special ceremony on July 19, when the IIANC YAC formally presented the donations.
"The dedication of the IIANC young agents to give back to our community and help grant wishes at a time when these children need it most is truly humbling," said Christy Collum, development director of Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina.
